Qualico is the parent company of Pacesetter Homes. It is currently one of the largest fully integrated and privately owned real estate companies in all Western Canada. They can be found even outside of Canada! With operations in Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Regina, Saskatoon, and Austin (Texas). Qualico’s operations can be found right across North America.
Qualico is involved in a wide variety of property and land enterprises. The operations range from developing commercial and residential properties, downtown office towers, apartment buildings, and shopping centers. On top of all that, Qualico is also a land developer. Qualico truly has a large scope of real estate operations, and they are considered the largest privately owned real estate company in Western Canada.
Pacesetter Homes operates in four major cities: Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, and Austin. We build single family homes, as well as multi-family homes. We are building homes in over 30 communities, and that’s in just Edmonton and its surrounding areas. Pacesetter Homes wasn’t always so widespread across this continent, or even in existence.
A Timeline of Qualico
In 1951, David and Katherine Friesen first started the company of Quality Construction in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Six years later, in 1957, Quality Construction expanded its business to Edmonton. By 1972, it was decided that it was time to modernize their company’s brand, and Qualico was born.
26 years later in 1998. Pacesetter Homes was incorporated into Qualico and began its growing legacy. Between 1999 and 2020, Pacesetter Homes has occupied 7945 homes.
Our company held the highest number of permits compared to any other builder for the entire region – meaning we are building more homes for families in Edmonton and surrounding areas than any other company. The exponential growth of Pacesetter Homes is astounding. We built only 65 houses in 2002 – which is just a small fraction of the number of houses currently being built annually.
Since its inception over 60 years ago, Qualico has clearly been a company that has been ever-changing, ever-growing, and ever adapting to the growing needs of businesses and families. Pacesetter Homes will continue to adapt and expand, maintaining our position of building more homes for families than any other builder in the region.
