A hood fan is a device containing a mechanical fan that hangs above the stove or cooktop in the kitchen.  It removes airborne grease, combustion products, fumes, smoke, odors, heat, and steam from the air by evacuation of the air and filtration. Pacesetter Homes provides a hood fan standard on our homes.

Over the range Microwaves (OTR) are mounted over the stop top.  This places it in a very convenience location, leaving space on your countertop.  It is usually wired directly into the wall, eliminating hanging cords.  This provides extra light, space and also does duty as a hood fan.  OTRs are purchased independently by homeowners.  Any changes in venting requirements must be provided to Sales early enough for changes to be made.  See your Area Sales Manager if you are considering changes to add an OTR in order to confirm changes can still be made to the build of the home.

This ventilation system is typically covered by cupboard doors for a nicer finish.

Pacesetter Warranty Policy:

Common concerns:

  1. Frost/moisture dripping from unit – contact Pacesetter Warranty if this problem exists.
  2. Hood fan/OTR is noisy – the fans can be noisy when operating.
