Island
The kitchen island is a free standing and functional addition to many kitchens. The island is used as an extra work station and storage. Wiring and plumbing can be included in the construction of the island as well.

Common concerns:
- Island shakes – this is normal. The island is reacting to the deflection in the wood floor when walked upon.
- Island moves – the island is secured to the floor, but a solid impact may cause a shift in position since the island is secured on each end only. The weight of the island is the primary stabilizing force.
